Beth DeFries is an emerging voice in the playwriting and blogging community. Growing up listening to her grandmother, aunts, and uncles recount stories from their pasts, Beth developed a fascination with storytelling and loved creating her own fiction and poetry whenever inspiration struck. She studied Writing and Theatre at Loyola University Maryland and was an active participant and performer in the University’s drama program, earning an interdisciplinary Bachelor’s degree in both fields.
Beth continues to find inspiration in her family’s passed down stories and experiences as well as in music, art, and theology. A proud New Jersey native, her work is also often influenced by the landscape and culture of her home state from Jersey City to the shore.
Beth believes that mindfulness, minimalism, and a healthy lifestyle can be helpful tools in supporting her creative process. In her spare time, she is an avid fiction reader and travel enthusiast. She writes about her experiences in minimalism, travel, and life in personal essays and poetry on her blog, Cozy Does It.
